Start with your ideal cruise
First of all, let me ask you about the purpose of this cruise.
This cruise was planned primarily as a welcome party for new employees. Two new employees joined the company this year after graduating from university, and the purpose of the cruise was to welcome them.
In addition, we invited customers who have been kind to us over the past year and students who plan to join the company next year, giving them the opportunity to get to know the company atmosphere and deepen their interactions with our employees.
What were your priorities as the organizer?
We focused on creating an environment where new employees and students could easily talk with members of their own age group. We then designed a communication flow that would allow them to naturally introduce themselves to their superiors and senior employees.
I also had a particularly hard time deciding on my seat. I was worried about whether I would be able to talk to people far away, but on the ship, I was able to move around freely, going to get buffet-style meals and going out to the deck to enjoy the extraordinary scenery from the ship, so I feel like I made more connections than I expected.
What was the reaction of the participants when you actually held the cruise?
New employees and students rarely have the opportunity to go on a ship, so many were surprised, saying, "We're doing it on a ship!"
Since most social gatherings are held at izakayas, I think everyone found this extraordinary experience very refreshing and enjoyable.
You have used our services many times in the past, but what do you think it is that makes participants want to use our services again?
It's a great way to have a new experience. The route changes every year, so the scenery and atmosphere are different and you never get bored. Last year I went to Kawasaki, but this time I chose a route that took me around Yokohama's tourist attractions. The scenery that can only be seen from the sea is truly extraordinary and special.
Even on the same cruise, you can make new discoveries and enjoy it without getting bored, which is what makes people want to use it again.
Looking back on the whole experience, is there anything that made an impression on you or that you noticed?
It was also the time when the company's fiscal year was about to change, so it was impressive to be able to reflect on the past year and change my mindset for the coming year.
I was also pleased that the event went smoothly without any issues. Employees naturally interacted with each other, and I feel that we were able to achieve our goal of deepening friendships.
Please give us some advice or a message for organizers who are considering cruising in the future.
Cruising is completely different from a regular drinking party or dinner, and offers a special feeling that you don't get to experience very often.
The appeal of a private cruise is that you can relax and enjoy yourself without worrying about others.
Participants are very satisfied and the memories are unforgettable, so I would definitely recommend this event for milestone occasions or important events.
